Last week the Fionia Cup took place. Three years ago at Fionia Cup Sookie had her debut – and we had so much fun then – and now as well 🙂
I was staying at the hostel just next to the competition venue and camping area – but this year unfortunately alone as my friend Lene’s dog got injured. Sunny and warm weather – almost too much for my dogs and me – not used to this heat 😉
The physiotherapist told me Thursday that she believed I am okay to run again – my ankle is though still swolen but thighs doesn’t hurt anymore. It took my brain about ten runs before it was convinced that it doesn’t hurt to run anymore – so focus was not really on handling the dogs but more on my thighs.. sigh..
I had some really, really great runs with Sookie – though only a single clean run but I am anyway so pleased with our performance 😀 Only at the last two days she knocked a bar, she didn’t miss a contact, and she had some really tight turns! Woohoo!! It was only minor things causing us to make mistakes – weave entrance (if I was on the left side of the weaves), and if i put my hand too low and was too late to tell her to move forward. So I’m actually pretty pleased with our runs 😀
Vini – my little speed bully – she didn’t have time to weave.. sigh.. she thought it would slow her down so she ran by the weaves and ignored its presence.. and for that reason she was not allowed to continue on the course before she had completed the weaving correctly – yeah, we are both really stubborn 😉 But apart from the weaves, Vini did really, really great – better than I had hoped for 😀 She made it through some pretty challenging courses without setting a paw wrong 😮 It’s going to be really fun when she weaves at the competitions as well 😉
I didn’t get many runs recorded but here’s a few of our runs:
And here’s a few photos from the competition:
I love these week competitions – you meet agility friends from around the world and you make new friends 🙂 I had a really great time – thank you all and see you next year at Dania Cup 😀
